I just heard about a contest to win a book called Travel Guide Book. It’s got 444 pages.  They are giving these books away to expose people to travel and global cultures.  This book is written by a group of educators that are sharing their travel experiences.  I think it’s a great thing especially if I was to win it.  Check it out for yourself and see if maybe you could win one too.

I remember watching the Olympics ever since I was a little girl and dreaming of being a Gymnast.  I always thought I would be great at gymnastics and go to the Olympics but then reality set in and I realized that I was just a normal person that loved to watch the sport and it is a sport.

Well it seems after the performances the ladies had the other day, maybe I would have been a great gymnast if what I saw qualified them as one.  They didn’t do very well at all.  The coach said that was their goal, well goal accomplished.  I thought the goal was to do good not see if you could land on your rear end off of the uneven parallel bars.  I must have missed something along the way.

Hopefully we’ll see much better from them the next go around.  I sure hope so because I was thoroughly disappointed in them.  Sorry ladies!!!!!

Oh have you seen the Olympic Mens Beach Vollyball Team?  Are they just the cutest or what?  Talk about tall, dark, and handsome, well I think they all are.  Boy do they have great bodies too or what?  I think I have found a new sport I want to watch, how about you? 

A lot of stars that had either worked with or knew Bernie Mac paid tribute to him.  He died suddenly Saturday from pneumonia of all things.  How does someone get pneumonia in August?  I thought that was something most people came down with in the winter but I guess I was wrong about that.  It’s always a shame to lose someone too soon and Bernie was only 50 years old.  That’s not very old at all in the real world where you see plenty of people on TV that are over 100.  I guess when it’s your time to go, you have no choice no matter how old you are or how young you are.  Life isn’t a given, it’s a gift and we should all cherish each day just as that, a gift because tomorrow my not come for all of us.  My heart goes out to his family and those that knew him personally.

Daddy wanted to help me lose some weight so he bought me a bicycle.  He said I could go riding and save gas to my girlfriends house and burn up some extra calories at the same time.  I have to admit, he did get me a pretty bike and it’s only about a mile to my best friends house.  It’s worth a shot to try.  Then if that doesn’t work, I’ll look at other ways to lose some weight.
