A bunch of us got together and went fishing, (I caught the biggest one) we played music, we laughed and we just had a great time at the pond behind our house.  It wasn’t too hot and it wasn’t too humid.  I’m telling you it was a perfect day.  There’s nothing better than spending the day with friends and having a blast doing nothing special. Just being together makes it special.

It’s so darn hot here and for sure at the beach.  We decided to take a little trip to the mountains next week and stay all week.  I love it there.  My aunt has a house across the street from my grandmother and lets us use it anytime we want.  It’s beautiful there.  When you look down the driveway, you can see the river across the street that runs by my grandmothers house.  We go tubing down the river and have since I was little.  Daddy and my brother fish, and I do too sometimes.

It’s good clean fun and we don’t have to worry about anything but the animals that come out at night to go to the river.  We have seen bear, deer, fox and even heard bob cats holler.  That’s make you get your butt inside real quick!!!!  It’s like being in Heaven until you hear that.

Today is Miss Pearls 93rd birthday.  Remember me telling you about her giving me that quilt for a graduation gift?  I just love that lady.  She is about the sweetest person I know.  I sure hope when I get that old, if I do, that I have as much life, joy, and peace as Miss Pearl does.  What a wonderful blessing she has been to me in my life.

I told you that my Daddy works for a chemical plant, remember?  Well they have to use explosion proof lights through out the plant because of the threat of an explosion.  The cool part of it is they are Magnalight lights.  One Christmas Daddy got all of us (including Mom) some Magnalight flash lights to put in our cars.  Mine was in my stocking of all places.  I thought I got bypassed and was getting something better than the others but I was wrong.

I’m not sure why Daddy is so safety conscious with us in our cars unless it has to do with him getting stranded once on a back road when it was about 11 at night with a flat tire, no spare and no flashlight either.  Then he hears about his friends daughter getting killed in the mountains and I guess he’ll be worried sick about us when we are out for sure.  I must admit that his fear has gotten us some pretty cool gadgets too.

My Daddy is a big hunter and his birthday is coming soon. It’s not too hard to find a birthday present for a hunter. I found him some Nikon Monarch ATB binoculars. He has been wanting some because they are waterproof, shock proof, and fog proof. They’re also rubber armoured so he won’t bang them up easily, he has been known to fall out of a tree stand occasionally.

They even came with a gift card and free shipping too. They have a great selection so it made it easy to find just what Daddy wanted. I can’t wait to give them to him.
