I have a cousin that has a couple small air planes and even landed upside down in a tree once.  He was hinging there upside down laughing like some kind of idiot.  Well now he’s looking for a Florida villa that he can fly into. Oh yeah, I can just imagine him flying into one of the other houses.  I have to admit there are some really nice houses down there.  He’s really a pretty good pilot but I wouldn’t go up with him.  I wouldn’t mind going to visit him if he does buy one of the houses he’s looking at in Florida.  He’s checking out one pretty close to Disney World.  Be a good excuse to go to Disney World if we went to visit him, ya know?

Alzheimer’s is one of the hardest diseases not only on the person that suffers from it but also on the family.  All three of my grandmothers sisters suffered from this awful disease.  Imagine going to see your own mother, wife, sister or grandmother and she not even know who you are.  She may talk about you and have no idea she is talking to you.  That’s one of the hardest parts of this disease on the family.

The Alzheimer’s Memory Walk is a nationwide event to not only raise awareness of the disease but also to raise funding for more research into this disease to hopefully find a cure or better medications to control the progress of Alzheimer’s.  They are in need of ‘Team Captains’ to help promote the walk and get people motivated to sign up for the walk.  This may be one of the first steps to finding a cure so the more people we can get signed up, the more awareness of the walk we can get out there, the more participation we can have. Please join a team or become a team captain and walk with us for those who can’t.

Where has this summer gone.  It’s almost August already.  I have to start getting stuff for school or it’s going to cost a small fortune all of a sudden.  I like to buy a little along the way and that way it just doesn’t seem to be so expensive.  Since I have a summer job, I’m trying to act responsibly and buy a lot of the things my parents normally bought like notebooks, pens and pencils……….you know, the usual.   The books for college are expensive and so is the tuition so any way I can ease the expense some on my parents I’m sure will be greatly appreciated.

My poor Daddy has had a bad back for as long as I can remember.  Mom found Takemi Jade Vista 5000 Massage Bed and has ordered one for her and Daddy.  He has to go to chiropractors all the time and Mom is hoping this will stop that.  With what they save on the doctor, it will pay for the bed.  I can’t wait till it comes so I can try it out too.

Well I call her Mamaw and have since I was a little girl.  She is by far the sweetest woman on the face of the earth.  It’s hard to believe she gave birth to my Daddy, just kidding.  My Daddy is pretty cool after all.  He grew up in those mountains and talks about it quite a bit.  Mamaw raised 5 kids in those mountains and didn’t drive until after Papaw was gone.

I didn’t know Papaw very well.  He was the total opposite of Mamaw.  He was very quiet and kept to himself most of the time.  The hardest thing is he committed suicide when I was real little.  He went to the doctor and they gave him some type of anti-depressant and within two weeks of taking them, he took his own life.  I’m not sure what type of anti-depressant it was but it back fired with Papaw.  He wasn’t the type of man to do that either.  He went to church every Sunday and……………I don’t really want to talk about that anymore.
